Mixers

Brothers rethinking their heinous crimes
We frequently invite guests over for a small gettogether (50 or so people) so everyone can relax and enjoy our spacious house and low-key atmosphere. Our halloween pumpkin carving mixer is a local favorite, except amongst the pumpkins. Mixers offer the chance for brothers to hang out not only with one another, but also with their close friends, all over the massacre of orange vegetables.

Parties

A hit and run caroling group attacks a Sigma Nu party
Sigma Nu parties follow one strict tenet: The more the merrier! Our annual Oasis party, which attracts hundreds of visitors each December, is a great way to beat the cold and party like it's summer again. Some of our recent Oasis parties have included a sand-filled dance floor and beach balls. Sometimes, large groups such as the one pictured on the right make a quick carolling appearance before blending into to the beach.

No room at MIT is better suited to hosting the ever-popular Sigma Nu SuperBowl party than our spacious ballroom. Complete with our 52 inch HDTV with professional surround sound system, this party draws alumni and friends from all around MIT. It's lucky we've got our big TV, or else some of us might miss the Patriots as they smash their way to victory!

Retreats

Brotherhood retreats are a true semester highlight, allowing brothers to leave Boston and MIT far behind as we spend time with brothers in a relaxed and carefree setting (unless of course one of the brothers who is leading a hike gets lost). Past retreats have included stays in the mountains of Vermont and New Hampshire, as well as trips to similar altitudes at Six Flags New England, New York, and even a visit to the Sigma Nu Headquarters in Virginia. Retreats generally include an overnight stay at a campground or friendly Sigma Nu chapter in the area. These experiences (whether we're enjoying ourselves or in pseudo-mortal peril) build memories that stay with us forever.

AXO Lip Sync

Sigma Nu shows off its salsa skills for Lip Sync '07
Every other year, Sigma Nus work together to produce a performance that is never easily forgotten. Our repeated first-place prowess for these performances is well-known across all of MIT. With help from our next door neighbors @ the Boston Conservatory, we produce a short, powerful combination of dance and drama that we challenge anyone to match.

Hanging Out

Brothers hang out in between Psets

Sigma Nus don't need parties, retreats and AXO Lip Syncs to be seen around each other. After a week of work at MIT, a lot of us enjoy staying around the house to chill. With the number of us that live in the house, there's always a a group around to play cards, shoot some pool, or just hang out around. When you're with brothers like ours, life is hardly ever boring.
